Emma Bair ~ Miss Rodeo Iowa 2022

Picture
Reigning from Keswick, Iowa, Emma Bair is the newly crowned Miss Rodeo Iowa. As the daughter of Chris and Shayla Bair and youngest of three siblings, Emma learned the meaning of all grit and no quit while growing up on her family farm. Emma and her family raise simmental cattle and quarter horses. She and her family also actively drive a team of percheron draft horses for Skunk River Drafts.

Outside of the farm, Emma grew up competing in rodeo associations across the state of Iowa. This is where Emma learned that hard work and dedication will get you far, not only in the arena, but also in other aspects of life. The Iowa Junior High and Iowa High School Rodeo Associations built her into the cowgirl she is today.

Emma embarked on her journey to obtain her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Northern Iowa following high school graduation. In 2019, Emma graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Two years later, she graduated with her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Emma currently works as a Speech-Language Pathologist in her free time. Other interests of hers include spending time with her nephew, baking, and lending a hand in the community when needed.

Emma has always had a passion for the sport of rodeo and our western heritage. “My goal as Miss Rodeo Iowa is to be a role model for young cowboys and cowgirls to look up to, while also being an educator and advocate for the sport we love so dearly. As Miss Rodeo Iowa, I will spend my year promoting, educating, and advocating for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, western heritage, and the state of Iowa. Our time on this planet isn’t long, but our impact can last forever.”

As Miss Rodeo Iowa, Emma will make over 100 appearances and travel approximately 30,000 miles both in and out of the state. This title gives her the opportunity to travel across the state, throughout the country and Canada attending a plethora of events. Through her travels she will focus on promoting Iowa agricultural, rodeo & educational opportunities for young women. During her reign she will attend rodeos, fairs and parades, as well as visit schools, hospitals and the elderly. Emma will conduct radio, television and newspaper interviews across the nation. At the end of her reign, she will have the opportunity to represent Iowa in the Miss Rodeo America pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. During this pageant, Emma will have the opportunity to vie for the coveted Miss Rodeo America title along with over $100,000 in educational scholarships.
